2014-2015 Psychology has been a part of me for a long time, and my artwork and is a massive influence on my work. My emotions are expressed in a visual way, and reveal my anxieties that lie within my subconscious mind. My mind is dark, and full of mischief, seeing the conflicting ID and superego that lies within me, motivates my ego to create.
Collage is the medium with the freedom to create, constructing work, and letting my mind spill on the paper. Sculpture is also a major part of my practice and is another way I let my mind take control of what is created.
Surrealism strives me as an artist, the weirdness and the dreamlike scenarios take me away from reality, which is something that simulates me to create. Jennifer Maestre, Rune Guneriussen, Francis Bacon and Salvador Dali are some of the influences that fascinate me as an artist because of the unusualness of the work that has been created or is being created.
2016-2017 Hybrids are an important component within Peach’s work. These hybrids aim to communicate the conflicting relationship between humans and animals. The idea of how humans see themselves as ‘higher’ than animals fascinates Peach, as she believes that every species should be treated equally. By creating obscure and surreal environments, the work intends to amuse and disturb the viewer. This allows them to create their own narration within the artwork.
Peach incorporates collage within her digital art, and this allows her to play around with images and manipulate them with ease to recreate an environment that brings to attention the lack of differences between humans and animals. Peach’s research interests focuses around animal intelligence and welfare. She is also influenced by many artists such as John Russell, Salvador Dali and Hieronymus Bosch.
